1. Outdated Concept- Commonwealth in itself is such an outdated concept, it smacks of imperialism. The Queen is the ceremonial head… we have UNO, SAARC, G-20 and hosts of other inter-governmental organizations. Why are we patronizing an idea whose time has gone past and an organization whose sole motive is to organize this Games Mela.
2. 28,000 Crores- these are just games at the end of the day!! All objectivity has been lost…! In a country of starving millions how can we spend this much on just games and still live with our conscience clear? Has all objectivity been lost? There is Helium Balloon or some such thing which has been designed – cost Rs. 40 Crs…this is beyond extravagant, this is criminal waste of Public Money.
3. The Traffic..oh.. The Traffic! - As if it was possible, but somehow Commonwealth Games have managed to make Delhi Traffic even more tedious. Thanks to the incessant digging endless re-routing of the traffic flow the constant construction/re-construction/re-re-construction. Delhi traffic to paraphrase Forrest Gump is now like a box of chocolate you never know what you’re gonna get! As if that wasn’t enough we now have something called the Commonwealth Games Lane, I mean seriously why don’t they just declare Delhites if you know what’s good for you stay off Delhi Roads!!!
4. Corruption Galore- Corruption in Indian bureaucracy and legislation is not new, but this seems to be the only objective why these games are being organized in the first place. In words of Barney Stinson- What has happened here is legend..wait for it…ary …
5. Does anybody really think India will win a medal? Not even the most irritating optimists will have very high hopes from any Indian participants at the game, so basically we will be like the hosts who don’t get to have dinner at their own party, truly and completely pathetic!!
6. Tourism promotion…seriously who is buying this? It has been predicted by all quarters that there would be a shortfall of hotel rooms come game time..simple solution-let all games officials cancel their own reservations!
7. Commonwealth Games has the Potential to become the biggest National Embarassment since Shilpa Shetty
8. Why Delhi?- If this amount of money had to spent on developing a city, it should have been ideally a tier-II city, Delhi has already hosted Commonwealth Games before and Asian Games as well. Others should get a chance too.
9. I work for a Utilities Company, hence, I don’t get an off for the duration of the games, so unlike others I will be dragging my ass to work every morning—a truly childish and selfish reason, but there it is!!

10. If for no other reason, than the fact that media people can’t stop talking about it! IPL continues to dominate media and assail our senses…Though it has managed to upstaged the IPL Controversy, Lalit Modi atleast would be grateful.
